APUSH Summer Reading Assignment 2011
Directions: All DCE APUSH students are required to read one of the following books in August 2010. You may pick up a copy of your book selection in the H.S. Library by June 9. There are only 80 books and 108 students. First come first serve. Otherwise you are responsible for getting a book from the public libraries or by purchasing online or at one of the bookstores in town.
1776, by David McCullough - nonfiction account that gives life to the year of our independence.
The American Revolution, by Gordon Woods -A concise 170 page summary of the events surrounding the American Revolution.
Rise to Rebellion, by Jeff Shaara - This historical fiction novel chronicles the events of the period 1770- 1776.
Glorious Cause, by Jeff Shaara - This historical fiction novel is about the Revolutionary War.
As you read your book selection you are asked to use the Reading Thoughts and Thinking Like a Historian Inquiry Categories to analyze and interpret what you read. I am asking you to post a blog entry after each of the following 3 sections.
